Exfoliation of the skin by peeling techniques has a very long history. Did you know, that even in ancient Egypt, oils, salts and alabaster were used to beautify the skin's optical appearance? Later, even mixtures of sulfur, mustard and sand were used to rejuvenate the optical appearance of the skin. That surely sounds interesting but not worth a try!

In modern medicine, it was then dermatologists who treated the skin for therapeutic purposes with methods of exfoliation. Such reports have already been held across the turn of the last century. During the 60's plastic surgeons started to work with different forms of exfoliation treatment.

Today there are many standardized methods to accelerate skin renewal. Classical methods are here, among other things the so-called fruit acid treatment, laser treatment or microdermabrasion.

One can imagine the skin like an onion-shell system, whose individual layers are removed shell for shell, to get the underneath, new skin to be exposed. The very idea of such a treatment is bound to make you feel discomfortable. The classic fruit acid peels can cause skin irritation, burning or reddening.   Shea nuts or shea butter is extracted from the nuts of Karité-Tree. The Karité-Tree, also known as shea tree is 10 to 15 m high and is a natural component of the vegetation of the sub-Sahel, a strip of vegetation about 300 kilometers wide, stretching from Mali through Burkina Faso, Ghana and Togo to Benin. Shea butter is also known Sheaoil Galambutter, karite or just Shea. It takes a place in many of our products due to its excellent properties of cosmetic use. Due to the high content of vitamin E, carotene, and allantoin, it is especially valuable in skin care. Allantoin has a supportive effect on the cell structure and cell formation and soothes the skin. Due to its moisturizing properties shea butter also provides smooth and soft skin.
